VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES OFFERING HOPE TO ABUSED AND NEGLECTED FOSTER CHILDREN 4/12/10
WHAT: 10th Annual Light of Hope Ceremony, hosted by the Clark County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program.
WHEN: 12 p.m., Monday (April 12, 2010).
WHERE: Family Court, 601 N. Pecos Ave. – Courtroom 9, Second Floor.
EVENT: The Light of Hope Ceremony presents an opportunity to raise awareness about the critical need to find permanent, loving homes for the 3,200 victims of abuse and neglect in Clark County, and to encourage the community to provide hope and support to these children by becoming volunteer advocates for them in the court system.
This year’s Light of Hope will focus its attention on the impact that CASA volunteers have made in the lives of foster children during the past 30 years in Clark County to preserve the best interest of children. Powerful messages will be presented by CASA volunteers, aged-out adult youths, Child Welfare professionals, Juvenile Judge Cynthia Dianne Steel and other community supporters to remind us that every child deserves hope for a better tomorrow and how the public can help.
