DEPENDANT MOTHERS OVERCOME OBSTACLES TO GRADUATE FROM DRUG COURT
THREE GRADUATES CELEBRATE ON NATIONAL DRUG COURT DAY
WHAT: In celebration of National Drug Court Day on May 20th, Drug Court Judge Jennifer Elliott will honor graduates from the Court’s Dependency Mothers Drug Court.
WHERE: Family Court and Services Center, 601 N. Pecos Rd., Courtroom 9.
WHEN: 1:30 p.m. Thursday (May 20).
EVENT: The Eighth Judicial District Court will host a Drug Court graduation for three individuals who have successfully completed the Dependency Mothers Drug Court Program in celebration of National Drug Court Day.
In this intensive program, participants enter a residential drug court program with their children. The Dependency Mothers Drug Court allows children to be reunified with their mothers while mom is receiving intensive residential treatment. The goal is to help mothers obtain drug treatment and allow children to leave the temporary care of the Department of Family Services. Successful completion of the program allows children to live with their mothers drug free.
