Flash Flood Watch for Northeast Clark County, NV in effect for the Moapa area thru Tuesday afternoon.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS HAS EXPANDED THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH TO INCLUDE PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST ARIZONA... CALIFORNIA AND SOUTHERN NEVADA... INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS... IN NORTHWEST ARIZONA... LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA. IN CALIFORNIA... DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK AND EASTERN MOJAVE DESERT. IN SOUTHERN NEVADA... LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA... LAS VEGAS VALLEY... NORTHEAST CLARK COUNTY... SOUTHERN CLARK COUNTY AND WESTERN CLARK AND SOUTHERN NYE COUNTY.

* THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON

* RAIN IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE OVER THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND THEN CONTINUE OFF AND ON THROUGH AT LEAST TUESDAY. RAIN MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES.

* THE RAIN WILL LIKELY CREATE PONDING OF WATER IN LOW LYING AREAS AS WELL AS FLOWING WATER IN NORMALLY DRY WASHES. DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT AND INTENSITY OF THE RAINFALL... RAPID RISES OF WATER IN WASHES AND FLOWING WATER CONTAINING MUD AND DEBRIS MAY BE POSSIBLE OVER THE AREA ROADWAYS. TRAVELERS... CAMPERS AND RESIDENCES SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAINS AND POSSIBLE PROBLEMS THAT THIS MAY CREATE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND PERSONS IN AND NEAR THE WATCH AREA SHOULD BE ALERT TO THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAINFALL.
