Bridge Closing, Williamstown South

The bridge over the railroad tracks, south of the city in Williamstown, has been closed by the state.

This is what the Department of Transportaion has posted on their website:

US 25 Bridge over the NS Railroad in Williamstown – As of March 1, 2011 the bridge carrying US 25 over the Norfolk Southern Railroad will be closed to traffic . The new bridge is expected to be open to traffic by Labor Day weekend, September 5, 2011. A detour will be posted utilizing KY 36, I-75, and Barnes Road to direct traffic around the suggested detour routes . All accesses to businesses and residences will remain open throughout the closure including access to Webb Park. This area will continue to be an active construction zone. Stay alert and watch for flagmen as trucks and equipment continue entering and leaving this area. Because of the construction work in close proximity to the traffic, the speed limit will remain at 25 MPH. Please watch for flagmen and use caution when driving through the work zones and pay attention to construction personnel, vehicles and equipment. Construction work will continue on James Street as well.
