Law Enforcement Explorer Academy (LEEA) 5k Walk-A-Thon
on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The La Puente Valley ROP (LPVROP) Law Enforcement Explorer Academy (LEEA) is dedicated to the education of students interested in the vast world of law enforcement. The LEEA was founded in 2003 with the desire to provide affordable, hands on training in law enforcement. Its student success rate is unsurpassed, with many of its students becoming part of police departments, military institutions and pursuing higher education in criminal justice. This is why we NEED your support. Please come and join the efforts of everyone to help as many students join the LEEA offering them an opportunity that would otherwise remain a dream.

The LEEA is an 18 week 180 hour, hands on training program. The modules consist of ethics and integrity, criminal law, report writing, laws of arrest, self-defense tactics, CPR and First Aid, a police ride-a-long and firearm safety, to name a few. At the end of each class a graduation ceremony is held to honor the students who have completed the LEEA. Students hold fundraisers throughout the semester putting forth their efforts to raise the funds necessary to finance their graduation. The students must also provide their own Class “B” uniforms and physical training gear. The LEEA looses approximately 80% of interested and willing children wishing to be part of this extraordinary program due to their inability to pay for their uniforms.

Once again, we invite you to join us in an effort to provide children this once in a lifetime opportunity to see and experience firsthand how to plan for a Brighter Future. Not only will you be extending a helping hand to your neighbors, schools, and your city, but to the world. Graduating LEEA students and enrolled students are less likely to become involved in criminal activities thanks to the guidance offered by the most highly respected professional in their field, LEEA instructors. Let’s join and participate May 14, 2011. For more information call Ricardo Vazques (626) 324-1214 or LaTayna Hamilton (909) 731-7535. You may also visit www.lapuente.org.
