National Take-Back Initiative – April 30th

On April 30th from 10 am to 2 pm the Lower Merion Township Police Department is participating in the Second National Take-Back Initiative. This initiative will provide an opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to a law enforcement officer for destruction and is completely anonymous. Our collection site will be located in the Lower Merion Township Police Department’s lobby located at 71 East Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore. Participants are asked to remove any pharmaceutical labels from the containers prior to surrender. Sharpies and syringes will not be accepted.
Just a reminder, in a continuing effort to utilize the most advanced and cost effective technology to keep our community informed, the Lower Merion Police Department is switching from Nixle to READY Notify PA as of April 29, 2011. READY Notify PA is a free and secure notification service available to us through the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety and offers additional notification services that are not currently available to us through Nixle. During the transition, the Lower Merion Police Department will continue to send brief informational text messages to Nixle subscribers directing them to READY Notify PA for complete information. The Lower Merion Police Department strongly encourages all residents to sign up and stay informed. You may register for READY Notify PA at http://www.readynotifypa.org/.
