The Thousand Oaks Police Department is investigating a serious traffic collision that occurred on the 300 Block of Massey Street. Several juveniles were in the process of vandalizing a home using paint balls and eggs. It is believed that this was retaliation for a vandalism that occurred at their home earlier in the evening. P-1 was standing in the rear bed of a white Ford pickup truck being driven by P-2. P-3 was driving a gray Audi hatchback, which was directly behind the pickup.
At some point during the vandalism, someone yelled for the driver’s to take off. As P-2 accelerated, P-1 lost her balance and fell out of the pickup. P-3, who also sped away, did not see P-1 and drove over her, dragging her under the vehicle for over 100 feet. P-2, realized that P-1 had fallen out of the vehicle and quickly stopped. P-3 also stopped and suddenly realized that what he had driven over was P-1.
Emergency personnel was called and responded to the scene. P-1 was transported by ambulance to Los Robles Hospital. P-1 suffered serious injuries and is schedule to be transferred to another hospital for further treatment.
The investigation is continuing.
