Sheriff’s Department’s Parks Bureau arrested a man for committing Lewd Acts Against a Child. 
On June 29, 2011, at Ted Watkins Memorial Park, 1335 East 103rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90002, Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Parks Bureau arrested a man for committing Lewd Acts Against a Child.
While working directed patrol at the Ted Watkins Memorial Park Pool, deputies were contacted by the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation lifeguards working the pool. They advised the deputies that an adult male in the pool was touching female children in an inappropriate manner. Deputies quickly detained the suspect and investigated the allegations.
Deputies located four victims ranging in ages of nine to thirteen years that said they had been touched by the suspect on areas of their body that made them uncomfortable.
The Suspect, Darnell Island, male, Black, thirty-two years of age, resident of Compton was booked at the Century Regional Detention Facility and is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
