Stabbing Death Investigation, Rancho Palos Verdes

Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding

a stabbing death that occurred on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the city of Rancho Palos Verdes.

Their preliminary investigation revealed that a domestic violence incident had taken place at the residence.

It appears that John Luis Deprizzo MW/40 suffered a self inflicted stab wound. The Los Angeles County Coroner will ultimately determine the cause of death.

Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death investigation that occurred on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the 5900 block of Flambeau Road, Rancho Palos Verdes.

Investigators learned that Lomita Sheriff's Station deputies responded to the location in regards to a domestic dispute after receiving a 911 call from a female resident.

Upon the deputies arrival, the female resident exited the house with her seven-year-old boy. Deputies ultimately made entry into the home and discovered a four-year-old girl inside along with the male resident, who was deceased.

The female was transported to a local hospital due to a head trauma and other minor injuries, not believed to be life threatening. Both kids were taken into protective custody.

A handgun and a butcher knife were found inside the location, but the cause of death for the male is still unknown at this time.

Both parties are believed to be a family of husband and wife with two kids.
