Police Chief Theron Bowman accepted the CALEA re-accreditation, along with Accreditation with Excellence honor

Sgt. Moss, Accreditation Manager, was proud to present Police Chief Bowman with the 7th consecutive re-accreditation certification from CALEA along with Accreditation with Excellence. Lt. Isbell, Lt. Gann, and Deputy Chief Hines unveiled the Award to Police Chief Bowman during a ceremony this morning at the West Substation.

The Arlington Police Department recently received its 7th consecutive re-accreditation and for the first time was also awarded the Accreditation with Excellence, the highest honor awarded through this process. The Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) establishes commission requirements that hold law enforcement agencies to a high standard, helping police departments become more efficient and provide better service to citizens.

This level of excellence shows that the Department takes a forward-thinking approach to professionalism and law enforcement.
