Woman killed in a hit and run in Valencia. Santa Clarita resident arrested.
On Friday, February 3, at 6:00pm an unidentified woman was hit by a vehicle traveling south on Orchard Village Road, Valencia. The woman was walking along the curb when she was struck by the vehicle.
The suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended when he was stopped by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station deputies. The vehicle had significant front end damage which prompted the stop and investigation of the driver.
The investigation revealed that the driver, Suspect Jonathan Anker, MW/68, a resident of Santa Clarita, allegedly struck the pedestrian, then fled the scene after the collision.
Suspect Anker was transported to and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff'ss Station for Vehicular Manslaughter and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
