Man fatally shot in an apparent dispute with neighbor. Suspect arrested, facing charge of murder.
The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that appears to have occurred during a dispute between neighbors this evening. Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Redbrook Court at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an injured man, who is in his mid-30s. He was driven by ambulance to Medical Center of Arlington, where he later died from his injuries. The victim’s name will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner once next of kin notification has been confirmed and he has been officially identified.
Officers were able to take the shooting suspect into custody without incident shortly after arriving. Witnesses described seeing the suspect shoot at the victim. When witnesses tried to go to the victim to help him, they said, the suspect began shooting in their direction. However, no one else was injured during the incident.
The suspect, later identified as Franklin D. Hudson, age 66, was transported to the Arlington City Jail, where he continues to be held. Hudson faces a murder charge with bail set at $500,000.
