LA 44, just east of LA 3213 in Gramercy, is closed due to an accident at a chemical plant. The closure is expected to be in place for the next several days. No vehicles may pass through this area during this closure.
The detour route is as follows: Eastbound motorists should turn left/North on LA 3213, then right/East on US 61 (Airline Highway) then right/South on LA 53 in St. John the Baptist Parish. Westbound motorists should turn right/North on LA 53, then left/West on US 61 (Airline Highway), then left/South on LA 3213 to re-intersect with LA 44.
