SLOPD arrest for possession of heroin,marijuana, resisting arrest, and warrant: Andrew Altamirano, age 26, of SLO. 
WHAT: Arrest for possession of heroin, marijuana, resisting arrest, and warrant.
WHERE: Kentucky at Taft; City of San Luis Obispo
WHEN: Saturday, June 09, 2012, at approximately 1150 hrs.
ARRESTED: Andrew ALTAMIRANO; age 26 of San Luis Obispo
On June 9, 2012, at approximately 1150 hrs the San Luis Obispo Police Department received information on the whereabouts of a subject with an outstanding $15,000 warrant for his arrest. The information indicated that Andrew ALTAMIRANO was also possibly armed with a gun. Officers responded to the area and quickly located ALTAMIRANO walking in the area and attempted to detain him. ALTAMIRANO led officers on a brief foot pursuit into a vacant lot but was quickly apprehended without injury or incident.
Upon taking ALTAMIRANO into custody, officers located tar heroin, marijuana, and numerous cellular phones in his possession. Despite an extensive search of the area no gun was located, nor was the information about the gun substantiated.
ALTAMIRANO was booked at San Luis Obispo County Jail on the following charges:
11350(a)H&S – possession of heroin
11357(b)HS – possession of marijuana
148PC – resisting arrest
Outstanding misdemeanor warrant 270 PC – Parent failure to provide.
