Four Gang Member Suspects Charged with Multiple Home Burglaries in Palos Verdes Peninsula
Sheriff's detectives from Lomita Station received suspect information regarding burglaries occurring in Rancho Palos Verdes on May 22, 2012.
That afternoon Lomita Sheriff's Station detectives and patrol deputies arrested four gang member burglary suspects during a traffic stop in the City of Lomita. Detectives recovered stolen televisions, computers, and jewelry from the suspects. The property had been stolen earlier that day during a burglary at a home in the 27000 block of Pembina Road in Rancho Palos Verdes.
Following the arrests of the suspects, sheriff's detectives served a search warrant and recovered more stolen property. The collectible memorabilia had been stolen during a burglary on May 18, 2012, on Rollingwood Drive in Rolling Hills Estates.
All of the stolen property was returned to the owners.
Sheriff's detectives are investigating the four suspects for as many as 25 residential burglaries throughout the Palos Verdes Peninsula as well as burglaries committed in the South Bay area.
The four suspects: Wardell Ward of Lancaster, Jeffrey O’Brien of Los Angeles, Deondre Whitfield of Long Beach, and Wynton White of Long Beach, have been charged with multiple counts of residential burglary, receiving stolen property, and actively participating in a criminal street gang.
On June 13, 2012, during the early morning hours, Lomita Sheriff's detectives assisted Long Beach Police Department personnel with the service of a final search warrant related to their burglary case.
At the conclusion of that operation the below press release was issued. For further information regarding the Long Beach Police Department’s investigation please call Long Beach Police Department Media Relations at (562) 570-5273:
