Over the past several weeks a number of residential garage burglaries occurred in the Jake’s Way area of Canyon Country. The suspects were gaining entry through unlocked garage doors and windows. In response to this crime trend, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s Crime Impact Team (CIT), in conjunction with the deputies from the Crime Prevention Team (CPT), conducted a parole compliance operation on Friday, June 22, 2012. During the check, deputies contacted Icelo Fonticiella, male Hispanic/19, at a residence in the 27300 block of Manzanita Lane, Canyon Country.

During the check, several items were identified and recovered as possibly being stolen from the recent garage burglaries. Through further investigation, deputies determined that Fonticiella was allegedly involved in several of the recent burglaries in the area. Fonticiella was arrested on felony charges of burglary. He was booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. He is being held without bail pending a review of his parole status and the open charges. The investigation is ongoing. He is due in court tomorrow.
