Canyon Country West, Zone 7 Update. Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information Snapshot. 07-02-12 to 07-08-12

Crime Prevention Unit

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part 1 crimes occurred:

(3) Aggravated Assaults, (1) Robbery, (3) Commercial Burglaries, (2) Residential Burglaries, (2) Grand Thefts and (1) Petty Theft.

On Tuesday 07-03-12, an assault with a vehicle occurred at the 19000 block of Soledad Canyon Rd. After committing a theft from the location, the suspect (Male Hispanic/20 years old) attempted to run over two victims with his vehicle. The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident.

On Wednesday 07-04-12, a shooting occurred at Sierra Hwy and Canyon Park Bl. During an altercation, the suspect shot the victim in the leg with a handgun. The suspect, Brandon Carrera (Male Hispanic/07-21-88) is still outstanding.

On Wednesday 07-04-12, a robbery occurred at the 20600 block of Golden Triangle Rd. The suspect (Male White/24) fought with security after committing a theft from the location. The suspect was arrested at the time of the incident.

Between Tuesday 07-03-12 and Wednesday 07-04-12, two residential burglaries occurred on the 26000 block of Claudette St. In both cases, suspect(s) unknown entered garages by pulling the garage door open and bypassing the spring-loaded mechanism. Both occurred during early morning hours (10pm-6am).
