An Arson investigation resulted in the arrest of a Truckee man. 
On 07-15-2012 at approximately 3:00 PM, Truckee Police and Truckee Fire responded to a vegetation fire behind the Old Gateway business complex on Donner Pass Road. Upon arrival, the fire had consumed a 20x100 foot area of forested land. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished.
Evidence at the scene suggested the fire originated from a small campfire. Witnesses provided a description of a man responsible for the campfire. The man was later located and during an interview admitted to starting the fire. The man was arrested and booked into the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, Truckee jail for unlawfully causing a fire.
