Free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
Training for Ottawa County Area Residents
CERT is one of the five Citizen’s Corps programs under the USA Freedom Corps. CERT teams in Ottawa County are organized thru the Ottawa County Emergency Management Office. The 2012 CERT training will be free to all Ottawa County Residents. Training participants are not re-quired to be a CERT member; however, information will be available at the training to learn more about how to apply to be a member of the Ottawa County CERT team.
The CERT training consists of 8 topics:
1. Disaster Preparedness 2. Fire Safety 3. Disaster Medical Operations 4. Light Search and Rescue 5. CERT Organization
6. Disaster Psychology 7. Terrorism and CERT 8. Disaster Simulation
When:
Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
September 12, 2012 through October 31, 2012
Participants must attend all classes to receive their certificate of completion.
Where:
Ottawa County Fillmore Complex—Administrative Building
