Suspect wanted for a Fatal Hit and Run in Commerce Surrenders to LASD EastLA Deputies

On Saturday, July 28, at 6:30 PM, Suspect Hugo Chavez walked into the lobby of the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station and surrendered to deputies.

Suspect Chavez, 21, a resident of Bell, was sought by law-enforcement as the suspect in the fatal hit and run traffic collision that occurred in the 5200 block of Randolph Street, Commerce on Thursday, July 26, 2012, around 11:10 PM.

Seeking The Public's Assistance For Fatal Hit And Run Driver, Commerce

DATE: Thursday, July 26, 2012

TIME: approximately 11:10 PM

LOCATION: 5200 block of Randolph Street, City of Commerce

On Thursday, July 26, 2012, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies from East Los Angeles Station responded to the 5200 block of Randolph Street city of Commerce regarding a call of a hit and run traffic collision.

When deputies arrived, they located a pedestrian, an adult male, laying in the street with upper body trauma. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department Paramedics .

The hit and run vehicle may be a dark colored pick-up truck with possible collision damage.
