Santa Rosa Police Announce Results of
DUI Court Sting Operation

On July 31, 2012 between the hours of 7:30 am to 12:30 pm officers from the Santa Rosa and Petaluma Police Department’s conducted an undercover court sting operation at the Sonoma County Court House targeting DUI, suspended, and unlicensed drivers. Police officers staked out offenders who had been told by a judge not to drive and followed them from courtrooms to the parking area to be sure they were not driving due to a suspended or revoked license. Six offenders were followed outside by officers. While some offenders had alternate means of transportation, one driver got behind the wheel and drove away from the court house. The driver was stopped by waiting officers.
The subject that was arrested for driving on a suspended license after leaving the courthouse was identified as:
• Jason Hutchings, 33 years of Yountville has two current suspensions against his driver’s license for driving while intoxicated.
Hutchings’ vehicle was towed and impounded for 30 days as a result of the operation.
Funding for this operation was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
