Suspect Identified in Anthony Ave Homicide Arrested in Fresno, CA
Fresno, CA - Luis Amaya was a found in Fresno CA yesterday around 1:00 PM. Sheriff's Office Homicide Detectives responded and he was arrested for homicide, a parole violation, and a drug warrant from Ceres Police Department. Amaya was transported to Stanislaus County and booked into the county jail.
Detectives are investigating why Amaya was in Fresno and where he may have been going. His was with him when he was found, but she was later released after detectives were able to talk to her.
Modesto, CA – Sheriff Detectives have identified 32-year-old Louis Alexander Amaya, AKA: Negro, as a suspect in the homicide that occurred on Sunday July 22 in the 700 Block of Anthony Ave. Sheriff’s Deputies had responded to a reported shooting at about 11 PM and once on scene they located the victim who was inside a car parked on the street. The victim, identified as Jesse Bejaran (9/30/76) of Modesto, had gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Amaya is described as a Hispanic male, 5 foot 9 inches tall, 220 pounds, with long black hair and brown eyes. He is a parolee-at-large and wanted for an unrelated felony drug possession warrant. Amaya should be considered armed and dangerous.
Detectives are also looking to speak with a heavyset, Hispanic female with light complexion and blonde hair who might have witnessed the shooting. “Amaya and Bejaran are gang members, however the motive for the shooting is unclear at this point”, said Detective Soria.
Further details of the incident are not being released at this time as Sheriff’s Detectives are actively investigating the case.
