Victims of Hurricane Sandy throughout New Jersey have been given more time to register for disaster assistance from the FEMA

Victims of Hurricane Sandy throughout New Jersey have been given more time to register for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

FEMA today extended the deadline to March 1, giving storm survivors another month to register with the agency for federal aid. The extension was prompted by a request from New Jersey officials, according to FEMA. Registration with FEMA can be done online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by a mobile device at m.fema.gov, or by phone at (800) 621-FEMA (3362). The toll-free telephone number operates from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. seven days a week.
