Recovery: Las Vegas, Nevada 4/29/2013 6:39 P.M.

The owner of the 2006 Scion XB discovered the vehicle stolen from their residence late in the afternoon of April 29, 2013. They immediately contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department where a report was filed. After verifying the theft, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police entered the car into the NCIC “Stolen Vehicle System” which automatically activated the hidden LoJack transponder at 5:47 P.M.

At around 6:20 P.M. Trooper Jimmy Driscoll with the Nevada Highway Patrol began picking up the silent LoJack signal with his LoJack equipped patrol car. Nineteen minutes after getting the silent LoJack signal, Trooper Driscoll tracked and located the car in a residential neighborhood near Walnut Road and Tonopah, in Northeast Las Vegas.

The Scion XB was recovered intact only 52 minutes after being activated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

The LoJack System was installed in the vehicle by Sierra Toyota of Lancaster, CA. on 2/24/2006. The car’s estimated value is $9,275.

Congratulations to Trooper Driscoll and the Nevada Highway Patrol!
