Vehicle vs Motorcycle Fatal Traffic Collision - Sunday, August 4, 2013

On Sunday, August 4, 2013, a 40-year male motorcyclist from Huntingnton Beach was killed in a traffic collision involving a car. Shortly before 4 p.m., the motorcyclist was proceeding eastbound in the number-two lane of Adams Ave just past Royal Palm Dr. A Honda Civic, driven by Sandra Foley of Costa Mesa, was facing westbound, stopped in the two-way left turn lane of Adams Ave preparing to turn left into the driveway near the Soup Plantation on the south side of Adams Ave, at 1555 Adams Ave.

The Civic turned left in front of the motorcyclist which collided against the passenger side of the Civic. Costa Mesa police officers and paramedics immediately responded to the scene to render medical aid. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Foley, the Civic’s driver, and several witnesses were questioned by police investigators. Foley, who did not appear impaired by alcohol or drugs, was later released by officers at the scene after questioning. There were no passengers in the Civic or on the motorcycle involved in the collision.
