Southern Nevada and Caltrans Commuter Alert

Caltrans is advising motorists that severe storms with flash flooding have affected some State highways throughout the Inland Empire and the Low and High Desert regions. Inclement weather conditions are still forecasted through Friday, August 30. Unexpected road closures may occur during these storms. The following roads are either closed or being repaired as the result of flash flooding over the weekend:

Caltrans Maintenance crews will be making repairs to various state highways in desert regions as the result of storm damage. No major delays are expected, however we ask that you follow all traffic signs and slow down for the workers. Travelers are advised to check for road and weather conditions on television, radio, or internet before they leave. Motorists are advised to avoid travel to desert regions until the storms subside. If you encounter flash flooding do not exit your vehicle – turn around…don’t drown! For further updates go to: and
