Brush Fire in Long Beach. Fire is approximately 80% contained. PCH open in both directions. Heavy traffic in area.

Fire Units from Long Beach, Orange County, Los Angeles County continue to work a brush fire in the area around the Long Beach Marketplace and Seaport Marina. Due to high winds and high temperatures, multiple resources were assigned to this incident to minimize spot fires and assist in suppression efforts.

At this time, the fire is approximately 80% contained. With the assistance from outside fire agencies, all Fire Stations in Long Beach are staffed and continue to provide high levels of service to our community.

Heavy traffic in the vicinity of the fire is still an issue....Please avoid this area if possible. PCH is now open in both directions. However, 2nd Street from PCH to Studebaker and Marina Drive from 2nd Street to Seaport Drive is closed. Please continue to use alternate routes. Per Long Beach PD, expect closures to last up to 8 hours.
