Progress on I-15 Repairs Continues Following Flooding

Las Vegas – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and crews from Las Vegas Paving continue to make progress on repairs to flood-damaged Interstate 15 north of Las Vegas.

I-15 remains closed from mile marker 75 to 93 north of Las Vegas as crews continue repairs. Contractor Las Vegas Paving began interstate repairs in the early Tuesday morning hours following the flood, and have worked non-stop since that time. Crews are currently rebuilding the base underneath eroded sections of northbound interstate and expect to begin paving this evening, with the goal of opening one lane of interstate in each direction by the early weekend. Motorists should continue to expect travel delays and use alternate routes.

UPDATES

New I-15 Detour Webpage / Additional Resources
The Nevada Department of Transportation has posted detailed I-15 detour information and maps, available by clicking the flooding icon on the nevadadot.com homepage. Motorists can also visit nvroads.com or follow Nevada DOT on Twitter and Nevada Department of Transportation on Facebook for updates before driving.

Important Commercial Vehicle (Truck) Information for Future I-15 Travel
Commercial vehicle drivers should be aware that northbound I-15 will continue to be restricted to commercial vehicles for the next week or more, even once the interstate opens. This means that commercial vehicles heading northbound from Las Vegas should plan to continue to detour via U.S. 93 until otherwise notified. Commercial vehicles are expected to be able to travel I-15 southbound once the interstate opens.

Moapa/Local Traffic
Due to construction activities and flood-damaged interstate, exits 88, 90 and 91 to Moapa are not currently passable for Moapa residents. Moapa-area residents in passenger vehicles will continue to take U.S. 93 and State Route 168.
