Bomb Threat at Bolsa Grande High School 12/9/14 @1:45 p.m. - No Suspicious Device Located

At 1:45 this afternoon, officers were sent to Bolsa Grande High School in reference to a bomb threat. A student had found a note on campus indicating there was a bomb somewhere on campus. The student brought the note to school staff and the school staff put the school on lockdown until officers arrived. Once on scene, officers started evacuating the classrooms and having the 2,075 students exit the campus. Once out of the school grounds, each set of students was counted to verify all were evacuated. Once verified and accounted for, each class was allowed to leave with their parents or walk home, as they normally do.

Once the classrooms were evacuated, officers conducted a search of the school campus and did not locate any suspicious devices. The campus was declared clear at approximately 3:30 pm. At that time, students and staff with vehicles, bicycles or other personal belongings on campus were allowed back in to retrieve them and
the perimeter was broken down.

In cases of bomb threats, whether real or fake, they are a crime. The Garden Grove Police Department will be actively following up on
all leads provided by the note and any other information gathered at the scene
