Homicide Investigation occurred in the 1500 block of South Spruce Ave., Rialto. See attached Homicide Press Release

On Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 11:41 PM, Rialto police officers responded to the area of Spruce Ave and Grovewood Ave., regarding reports of a shooting victim at the location. Upon arrival, officers found a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Rialto paramedics were summoned. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The decedent was identified as Anthony Villanueva (10-18-96).Rialto Police Detective Unit was notified and responded to the scene. Through a detailed investigation, it was determined the shooting occurred in the 1500 block of South Spruce Avenue. A dispute between two neighbors ended in Villanueva was the only person injured during the incident and there are no outstanding suspects. Kevin Gutierrez (02-09-98) was arrested at the scene for the shooting and was later booked into West Valley Detention Center for homicide.
