Police warn of smash & grab burglaries to vehicles.

The Bordentown Township Police warns the public that a nationwide smash-and-grab gang are currently in the area and have been burglarizing parked cars at gyms and day care facilities in both Burlington and Mercer Counties.  This group targets purses and wallets left in cars in search of bank cards, checkbooks and cash.

The so-called “Felony Lane Gang,” a crime network that is active in at least 35 other states, is believed to be responsible for a recent smash and grab car burglary at a Bordentown Township gym on 1/16/18 and the BTPD reminds every one of the following safety tips:

  • Don’t leave purses or anything valuable visible in your vehicle.
  • Make sure your car is locked.
  • Be observant of your surroundings.
  • Report any suspicious activity/vehicles observed via 911.
If victimized:
*          Immediately report it to police via 911.
*          After contacting police, quickly notify your bank and credit card companies.
