Weekend Traffic Advisory: Major League Soccer Game (and Fireworks) at Stanford Stadium on Saturday Night

Major League Soccer returns to Stanford Stadium on Saturday night, with the San Jose Earthquakes taking on the LA Galaxy. Kickoff is at 6:45 p.m. Estimated attendance is a full house of 50,000 people.

We expect heavy traffic on Embarcadero Road, El Camino Real, Sand Hill Road, Oregon Expressway, and surrounding streets beginning as early as mid-afternoon. There will also be a short fireworks show at the end of the game, and we expect the crowd to stick around until the end to see it. As a result, traffic will likely be affected in the area until well after 11:00 p.m.

Please spread the word about the fireworks to your neighbors, and please refrain from calling 9-1-1 if you hear any loud booms between 9 and 10 p.m.

Let's all have a safe and fun night at the game - and if you're in viewing distance of the stadium, head outside and catch the fireworks show.
