Sign Up Today! Hayward Police Department's Community Academy

The Hayward Police Department’s Community Academy program is an engaging nine-week program that gives the residents of Hayward an inside look at the Hayward Police Department.

Classes start on September 4th and meet every Tuesday evening from 6pm-9pm at the HPD North District Office at 22701 Main Street until October 30th.

The mission of the Community Academy is to foster a greater understanding of the role of the city’s law enforcement in the community through education and discussion. Participants are residents of Hayward, as well as, people employed in the city of Hayward.

Applications to attend the Community Academy can be obtain via https://www.hayward-ca.gov/police-department/programs/community-academy (apply online or printout a hard copy). All applicants are selected on a first-come, first serve basis, however, must pass a background check to be eligible.
