Suspicious Subjects Arrested in Tehachapi

Over the past few days there have been reports of a male and female knocking on doors in the Golden Hills area, asking homeowners for items or stating they were homeless.  On the morning of October 30, 2018, deputies received another call with similar details.  As deputies were responding they saw a vehicle matching the description of the suspects.  As traffic stop was initiated and a male and female were detained.  Upon further investigation the two subjects were arrested for prowling and various other unrelated charges.
The arrested subjects were 45 year old Lancaster, California resident Jennifer Cratty and 47 year old Pearblossom, California resident Robert Monson.  Cratty was booked for prowling and Monson was booked for possession of a concealed weapon, violation of a court order, resisting or delaying a peace officer and providing false information to a peace officer.  Both subjects were booked into the Kern County Jail.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens to keep their doors locked and to not open their doors to people they do not know.  The intentions of these two individuals is unknown, though it is important to keep your safety in mind at all times.  Please call the Sheriff’s Office if you see suspicious subjects in your neighborhoods.  The non-emergency line for the Kern County Sheriff’s Office is 661-861-3110.
