Synopsis: A minor injury collision was upgraded to a serious injury collision when the involved pedestrian’s injuries were determined to be more serious than initially concluded. An 85 year old female pedestrian, attempted to cross Cedar St at 1st Ave. She was crossing from north to south, 1700 1st Ave. She failed to obey the red pedestrian signal and walked into the roadway. A white 2016 truck, driven by a 43 year old male was eastbound on Cedar Street and struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained a skull fracture and brain bleed. No DUI. San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating.
