CRIME ALERT - Residential Burglary & Thefts from Vehicles in the Port Streets (RD 51)

After the victim went to bed on 2/6/2019, the suspect entered the home on Port Stirling Place through the garage door that was left open and the unlocked garage interior door leading to the inside of the residence. The suspect removed the victim’s property from the kitchen and the garage and fled the scene.

Around 3:00am on 2/7/2019, a resident on Port Cardiff Place called the Police Department to report a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood. When officers made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, they arrested them for drug related charges and for possession of stolen property.

Later that morning, property was found in the bushes near Port Manliegh. During the investigation, the property was determined to be from the residential burglary on Port Stirling Place. Evidence indicated that the one of the subjects arrested on Port Cardiff Place was linked to the residential burglary.  Property that had been stolen from several vehicles in the Port Streets was recovered as well. Detectives are still working on connecting some of the found property to other potential victims.

If you were the victim of theft from a vehicle in the Port Streets between 2/6/19-2/7/19, please contact Detective Matthew Wood at (949) 644-3767.  Report Number: 19-0927
