Cranbury Police Department Welcomes New Officers!

The Cranbury Township Police Department announces the appointments of two new Police Officers. Officers John Glennon and Nicholas Rodrigues were initially sworn in on August 6, 2018 before Township Clerk Debra Rubin. Both were then assigned to attend the Cape May County Police Academy as part of the 45th Basic Course for Police Officers. Glennon and Rodrigues successfully graduated the academy on January 14, 2019. Since graduation, both Officers have been assigned to complete the Police Department’s twelve week “Field Training Program”. Glennon and Rodrigues have been successfully released from the Field Training Program and both will immediately assume full patrol duties.

Officer John Glennon was a native resident of Wilson, North Carolina prior to relocating to New Jersey. There he graduated from Fike High School. Officer Glennon went on to attend East Carolina University (Greenville NC). He graduated ECU in May 2016; receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Prior to being hired in Cranbury, Officer Glennon was a graduate of the Pitt Community College Police Academy (NC) and proudly served as a Police Officer with the Wilson City Police Department for a little over two years.

Officer Nicholas Rodrigues is a native resident of the central New Jersey area. He is a graduate of Monroe Township High School. Officer Rodrigues went on to attend Rowan University (Glassboro NJ). He graduated Rowan in May 2014; receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Justice. Prior to being hired in Cranbury, Officer Rodrigues was a graduate of the Monmouth County Police Academy (Special Officer II) and proudly served as a Class II Police Officer with the Bradley Beach Police Department since January 2017.

These Officers bring the current ranks of the Cranbury Township Police Department up to 19 sworn Officers. Officers Glennon and Rodrigues will be assigned to the Patrol Division and fill the void of those Officers recently assigned to staff the agency’s newly formed Traffic Enforcement Bureau.
