TOMORROW - Veterans Breakfast at Lawrence High School - All Veterans are welcome to join us for a FREE breakfast at Lawrence High School tomorrow, May 24th. The breakfast will be served between 8:30 am and and 10:30 am. Please register to attend by clicking on this link and filling out the form. See this flyer for more details. Memorial Day Parade This Weekend - Get together with your family, friends and neighbors and celebrate the holiday by joining us for the Lawrence Township Memorial Day Parade this Saturday, May 25th! Please click here to view the event flyer.  The parade begins at Lawrence High School and ends a Veterans Park with a memorial ceremony.  Hot dogs and water will be served.

Municipal Offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2019 in observance of Memorial Day.
Trash WILL NOT be collected on Monday, May 27th - the make up day is on Saturday, May 25th.

Mercer County Mosquito Spraying - Adulticide applications (spraying) are conducted when biting adult mosquito populations exceed public health or nuisance thresholds. Spraying is scheduled for May 24th between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. (weather permitting). Please go to the Mercer County website for additional details and spraying locations.

Vegetation Management Aerial Patrol - Jersey Central Power & Light will be conducting their Annual Vegetation Management Aerial Patrol. These inspections are scheduled from April through September on an annual basis and cover all transmission facilities system-wide. Patrols consist of a Forestry Specialist that accompanies the pilot to identify effectiveness of prior year’s herbicide application and identification of any conditions warranting further inspection from the ground and or corrective action. Haverfield will be the helicopter company assisting in the inspections on all JCP&L Transmission Lines, beginning May 20th and 21st, weather permitting. 

Mercer County Community Survey - We are asking all Mercer County residents to take a few minutes of their time to participate in this survey regarding important issues around subsance use. Click here for the link to the survey.

Mulch Delivery Program - Mulch delivery has been a success and is continuing through May 17, 2019, the Public Works Department will deliver natural ground wood chips to your driveway. Click here for all the details.

Road Work - NJDOT has scheduled a repaving project on I295 from Route #1 in Lawrence Township to Highway 29 in Hamilton.  Lane shifts and closures will occur - please expect delays and use caution in the construction areas.

NJDEP Offers Safety Tips as Bears Leave Their Dens in Search of Food: It is important for residents who live in "bear country" to be aware of steps they can take to reduce chances of bears coming onto their property. Please see Press Release. Additional information can be found on the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection website.

Message from the Department of Public Works:

The Township recently revised the brush collection regulations effective January 1, 2019. (Ordinance No. 2307-18)


Brush will continue to be picked up according to the zone schedule. Please refer to the Zone Map below.

  • Brush should be placed at curbside no earlier than the weekend prior to the scheduled pickup week
  • Yard waste shall be placed along the front yard curb of the property which it has originated for collection.
  • Collection will be limited to brush and tree prunings.
  • Tree trunks and limbs in excess of 6 inch diameter will not be collected.
  • Limbs should be cut in lengths of 3 feet or less.
  • All limbs and brush should be placed at the curb in an orderly manner.
  • The size of the pile may not be larger than 3 feet high and must be placed not greater than 4 feet from the edge of the pavement. The pile shall not exceed 12 feet in length.
  • No wire, nails or metal should be left in the materials.
  • Diseased material and firewood will not be collected and disposed of by the Township. This material must be disposed of privately.
  • All tree stumps are the homeowner’s responsibility. The Township will not collect tree stumps.


All commercial landscapers shall be registered annually with the
Township of Lawrence by March 31st.

There is no brush collection during November and December, leaf collection only.

The week of May 27 is Zone 4.

If you have any yard waste, you may take it to the Ecological Facility on Princeton Pike between the hours of 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  The Ecological Facility is now open on Saturdays.
