Citizen Call Potentially Prevents Vehicle Break-ins, Armed Robbery
On the evening of January 19, 2010 an observant business owner in the area of Peggy Lane observed two black males using a flashlight to look inside vehicles in the parking lot. After the witness confronted them they left the area walking along the train tracks.
Tyrone Officers arrived on scene and located the two men and found a fully loaded sawed-off shotgun that was reported stolen out of Marietta, a pellet gun resembling a real handgun, a package of rubber gloves, and a bandana "folded in a manner to conceal one's face" in their vehicle.
Both subjects were arrested and charged with Possession of a Sawed Off Shotgun, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, and Loitering or Prowling. Both suspects reside in College Park.
