Simi Valley Detectives Arrest Local Resident for Attempt Murder
On October 27, 2013, at approximately 12:56 a.m., the Police Department received a 911 call of a disturbance in the 500 block of Valley Gate Rd. When Officers arrived on scene, they discovered an unconscious, 35 year old male on the ground. Due to the significance of the injuries to the victim, Ventura County Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and the victim was transported to Los Robles Hospital where he was treated and admitted.
During the investigation, Officers determined that the unconscious subject was actually the victim of a violent assault by an individual who was still at the location. It was also determined that when two good samaritans attempted to render aid to the victim and call 911, the suspect chased them from the scene. Based on information obtained during the investigation, Simi Valley resident, Devin Lamar Kelley, 25 years, was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon and attempt murder.
The Simi Valley Police Department’s Detective Unit has assumed this ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Detective Keith Eisenhour at (805) 583-6967.
