Heat Wave Expected. The Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for much of the Bay Area this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for much of the Bay Area over the Labor Day Weekend.  The hottest days are expected Friday and Saturday but it will occur throughout the weekend. 

Please remember to check on and pay special attention to the very young, elderly and pets during this extreme weather. 

Union City community centers, city buildings and the library can be used as cooling centers for those looking to escape the heat on Friday.  The Mark Green Sports Center will be open through the weekend from 7:30 am until 3 pm.
