Traffic stop leads to the arrest of a felon in possession of a firearm and for sales of methamphetamine

DATE/TIME: September 8, 2017 / 1:40 p.m.

INCIDENT: PC 29800(A) Felon in Possession of a Firearm and HS 11378 Methamphetamine Sales

LOCATION: Redlands Boulevard and Corporate Drive, Loma Linda

SUSPECT(S): Modesto Villalba, age 39 of San Bernardino

On September 8, 2017, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Deputy H. Reyes, from the Sheriff's Central Station, Loma Linda Patrol, conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Explorer for expired registration. Reyes contacted the driver and identified him as Modesto Villalba, who was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. During a search of the vehicle, Deputy Reyes located a 40-caliber handgun, methamphetamine, digital scale and U.S. currency. Villalba is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm. Villalba was arrested for PC 29800(A) Felon in Possession of a Firearm and HS 11378 Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales. Villalba was booked into Central Detention Center.
