Deputies arrest four suspects for numerous charges including possession of a loaded firearm

DATE/TIME: 09/21/17 9:00 P.M

INCIDENT: HS11370.1(a); Possession of a loaded firearm and narcotics, HS11351; Possession of a controlled substance
for sales, HS11350; Possession of a controlled substance, PC459.5; shop lifting.

LOCATION: 33644 Yucaipa Blvd (Vons Shopping Center)

SUSPECT(S): Jeffrey Hewitt (28), Joshua Reyes (23), Anthony Moran (23), Anahi Hernandez (23)

SUMMARY: Yucaipa MET Team Deputies were patrolling the Vons Shopping Center parking lot and observed a vehicle from an earlier theft that occurred in the City of Yucaipa. During the investigation the passenger of the vehicle, Jeffrey Hewitt, a 28 year old transient from City of Yucaipa was in possession of a loaded handgun, over an ounce of suspected heroin, over $500.00, three bottles of prescription pills, and other items associated with the sales of illegal narcotics. Hewitt was booked at the Central Detention Center for HS11370.1(a) and HS11351, and is being held in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.

Deputies also arrested Joshua Reyes, a 23 year old transient from the City of Yucaipa for stealing items from the Vons Grocery store. Anthony Moran, a 23-year-old transient from City of Yucaipa was arrested for being in possession of suspected Heroin. Anahi Hernandez, a 23 year old transient from City of Yucaipa was arrested for petty theft. Reyes, Moran, and Hernandez were all cite released.

Yucaipa Multiple Enforcement Team / Problem Oriented Policing Detail is funded by and serves the City of Yucaipa. Among other duties, officers assigned to this detail seek wanted persons, work with parole and probation officers to ensure that people under their supervision remain in compliance with the law, and respond to concerns expressed by citizens regarding all types of criminal activity that is affecting their neighborhoods and communities.
