Pomona Police Department's Bloodhound locates suicidal critical missing juvenile.

DATE/TIME: Tuesday October 10, 2017 @ 2:45pm

LOCATION: Monte Vista & D Street - City of Chino

Chino Police Department received a radio call regarding a 15- year old female with a history of suicidal tendencies. When officers arrived the female had fled the residence leaving behind evidence that suggested she may have injured herself. Fearing that the victim may be in grave danger, Chino PD requested air support assistance from San Bernardino Sheriff's Department and the Pomona Police Department's Bloodhound "Jax."

Utilizing some of the victim's clothing articles, "Jax" immediately picked up the victim's scent directing officers to a nearby park. As officers neared, "Jax" alerted to a female walking past the park. Officers contacted the subject, successfully identifying her as the critical missing juvenile. Paramedics treated and transported the victim to a local hospital for further treatment and a mental health evaluation.

This is great example of Pomona Police Department proudly working together with neighboring agencies to assist and share resources leading to a safe and successful outcome.
