REMINDER: The Decoto Rd. road closure is taking place tomorrow December 27th through January 2nd.

The Union Pacific Rail Road (UPRR) will be making emergency repairs to their railroad crossing on Decoto Rd. in Union City.  The repairs will effectively close down Decoto Rd. in both north and south bound lanes between Cheeves Way. and Seventh St.  The closure will be effective 24 hours a day until the work can be completed.  Additionally the following streets will be closed to through traffic at Decoto Rd. 
  • Depot Rd.
  • Eighth St.
  • Ninth St.
The closure will begin Wednesday December 27th, 2017 and is anticipated to remain in effect until Tuesday January 2nd, 2018.  If the work is concluded prior to January 2nd the roadway will be re-opened at that time.
We strongly encourage motorists to use alternative routes / detours and avoid entering into residential neighborhoods.  Detours will be set in place directing motorists to alternative routes.  Please see the attached examples of proposed alternative routes.  .
It recommended that motorists plan ahead and expect major delays during this time as this is a major thoroughfare for commuters travelling between the 880 freeway and Mission BlvdThere will be no through traffic on Decoto Rd. during this construction period.
Emergency vehicles travelling this route should make note of the closure and plan accordingly.
