Suspect identified in the armed robbery of the Valero Gas Station on February 8, 2018

DATE/TIME: February 20, 2018

INCIDENT: Update arrest - Armed Robbery

LOCATION: 500 block of Bond Drive., Perris

SUSPECT: Anthony Sergio Munoz, 27 years old, resident of Perris

VICTIM: Valero Gas Station, Wildwood Canyon Rd/California St., Yucaipa

On Thursday, February 8, 2018, at approximately 4:45 pm, the Valero Gas Station was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect, a Hispanic male, presented a semi-automatic handgun and demanded the money in the cash register. The clerk complied, and the suspect fled in an awaiting black SUV, northbound on California St.

In a cooperative effort with surrounding law enforcement agencies, the suspect was identified as Anthony Sergio Munoz. Munoz was wanted for several other armed robberies in Redlands, Riverside County, Fullerton and Long Beach. Through investigation, Munoz was located and arrested by detectives from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Perris Station. Munoz was booked into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.
