On April 24, 2018, Yucaipa Police were alerted of a theft that had occurred at a residence. At approximately 6:00 am, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s garage, and stole several items from a vehicle within the garage. The suspect was seen arriving in the area in a white compact vehicle. The suspect was captured on surveillance video as he approached the victim’s residence.

On April 29, 2018, the same vehicle was captured on another video surveillance in another neighborhood. This time, the vehicle pulled up to a residence and several subjects exited the vehicle, and began checking car doors. The suspects then stole several items from numerous unlocked vehicles in that neighborhood.

Both surveillance videos were distributed to social media. As a result, a citizen provided information that identified the owner of the vehicle as Christian Carrillo.

Yucaipa Police Detectives identified the license plate to Carrillo’s vehicle and identified Carrillo as one of the subjects seen in surveillance video. On May 2, 2018, Highland Station deputies located Carrillo’s vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 7800 block of Calle Del Rio, Highland.

Yucaipa Police Detectives, Highland Police Detectives and patrol deputies from both stations contacted numerous subjects at the home. A search of the home was conducted and detectives located stolen property from numerous people in the cities of Redlands, San Bernardino, Highland, and Yucaipa. Christian Carrillo, who was inside of the home, was found to be in possession of narcotics packaged for sales. Other drug related items were also found in the home.

While Carrillo was the only person in the home seen in the surveillance videos, items located in the residence show the other subjects may be involved in the theft of mail from residences in the cities of Highland, Redlands, San Bernardino, and Yucaipa. Detectives are actively working on trying to identify the remaining subjects seen exiting the vehicle in the attached video surveillance tape.

As a result of this investigation, Dustin Guentzel was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant. Irene Lopez was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Both were booked into the county jail, and later cite released from the jail.

Morgan Killion was arrested for HS 11350 - Possession of a Narcotics, PC 529 – False Impersonation of another person, and various warrants for Grand Theft Auto. She was booked into the County Jail, where she is being held in lieu of $175,000 bail.

Ricardo Gutierrez was arrested for HS 11366 – Operate a Narcotics Residence. He was booked into the County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Andrew Serrano was arrested for HS 11366 – Operate a Narcotics Residence. Serrano was found to be on Formal Felony Probation for a prior conviction of VC 2800.2 – Evading Police in a Stolen vehicle. He was booked into the County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of No Bail.

Christian Carrillo was arrested for PC 459 – Vehicle Burglary, HS 11378 – Possession narcotics for sales, and PC 496 – Possess stolen property. As part of California Assembly Bill 109, Carrillo was found to be on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for a prior conviction of PC 29800 - Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Carrillo was booked into the County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of No Bail.

Detectives are releasing a portion of the video surveillance tape, depicting the suspects exiting the vehicle, and the prior video surveillance tape of Christian Carrillo walking towards a victim’s residence. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the identity of the suspects in the video, to contact the Yucaipa Police Department.

It is further believed that Carrillo and Andrew Serrano are involved in on-going thefts from vehicles and thefts of US Mail. Detectives are releasing their booking photos to the public. If anyone has seen these subjects committing either of these crimes, they are encouraged to contacted Yucaipa Police Detectives.
