Sept 3rd

Warrant Arrest – 11800 Block San Pablo Ave:
At 1948 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 48-year-old male from Richmond on a Marin County Warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

Sept. 4th

Shoplifting - CVS- 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 0926 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting that just occurred. An unknown suspect concealed merchandise and then left the business on a bicycle.

Warrant / Shoplifting Safeway 11450 San Pablo Ave.:
At 1354 hours, officers responded to the report of a grand theft. The suspect, later identified as a 62-year-old Richmond man, loaded cases of Red Bull onto his wheelchair and then fled towards the BART station. The man was issued a citation for the theft.

False ID to a Peace Officer / Unlicensed Driver / Probation Violation – San Pablo Ave / I-80:
At 2240 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 17-year-old male from Antioch. The male juvenile originally lied about his name to hide the fact he was out after curfew in violation of his probation. His true identity was determined when a social security card bearing his name was found in his pocket. The male juvenile was also unlicensed. He was taken into temporary custody and transported to the ECPD for parental contact. The male juvenile was released to a family member.

Sept 5th

Battery / Disorderly conduct – 5800 block MacDonald Ave:
At 1637 hours, an officer responded to the report of an intoxicated, belligerent subject refusing to leave. He shoved the manager, was heavily intoxicated, and resisted being handcuffed. The suspect, a 26-year-old Richmond man, was booked, and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 1800 block of Liberty St:
At 1927 hours, an officer responded to take a report of a stolen vehicle. While responding to the location, the officer recognized a van parked along the curb just south of Key Blvd as the stolen vehicle. He observed a 40-year-old male subject from Oakland exiting the driver’s side. The male was detained and ultimately arrested for vehicle theft. He was transported to the ECPD for booking and identification purposes.

Sept 6th

Hit and Run Collision Fairmount Ave./ San Pablo Ave:
At 1449 hours, officers responded to what initially was reported as a stolen truck. A subject stole a red Ford F250 from the construction site at the Plaza BART station. The suspect drove the vehicle south on San Pablo Ave., collided with a vehicle, and fled the scene. It continued south on San Pablo Ave until it collided with an AC transit bus in front of the Albany PD. The suspect was detained by construction workers and then arrested by officers from the Albany PD.

Shoplifting – 10650 San Pablo Ave (CVS):
At 1851 hours, an officer reports two unknown suspects entered the CVS and took hygiene products. Both suspects fled in a black convertible northbound on San Pablo Avenue.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave / Madison Ave:
At 2129 hrs, an officer stopped a 40-year-old male from Hayward for a traffic violation. The male was found to have a citable warrant out of Kern County for traffic violations. The male was issued a citation for the warrant in the field and released.

September 7th

Warrant Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance – BART path at Hill St:
At approximately 1144 hours, an officer contacted a 29-year-old male from Stockton and learned that he had a Solano County traffic warrant. The male was also in possession of liquid heroin. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and then released on a citation.

Residential Burglary/Evading Police – 2700 block of Arlington Blvd:
At approximately 1225 hours, El Cerrito PD units responded to a residential alarm. An officer arrived and saw a burgundy Toyota Avalon fleeing from the residence. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Toyota, but the vehicle failed to stop. The driver of the Toyota led El Cerrito police officers on a vehicle pursuit through the Cities of El Cerrito, Richmond and onto the I-80 freeway. Officers lost sight of the fleeing vehicle as it exited the Carlson Blvd off ramp.

Warrant Arrest – S. 56th Street / Carlos Avenue:
At 1404 hours, an officer contacted a 19-year-old Richmond man during a traffic stop and arrested him on a Berkeley PD warrant. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Attempted Residential Burglary – 500 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1804 hours, an officer reports an unidentified suspect attempted to enter the victim’s apartment via a balcony. The victim was home at the time and was able to scare off the suspect.

Shoplifting – 11565 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1914 hours, an officer reports an unidentified suspect exited the business with approximately $100 of stolen merchandise.

Possession of Controlled Substance – San Pablo Avenue / Cutting Boulevard:
At 2356 hours, an officer contacted a 35-year-old Pittsburg man during a traffic stop and arrested him for possessing a controlled substance. The man was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then released with a citation.

September 8th
Theft – 11344 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2327 hours, an officer reports a patron of the business left their cell phone behind and upon their return discovered the item had been stolen.

Drunk in Public, False Information to a Police Officer – 10200 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 0219 hours, an officer responded to an alarm call at a business and located a 37-year-old El Cerrito man nearby who was heavily intoxicated. The man provided a fake name when asked, and was so intoxicated that he was unable to care for himself. The man was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

September 9th
Possession of a Controlled Substance – S. 55th Street / Potrero Avenue:
At 2255 hours, an officer contacted a 50-year-old San Pablo man during a traffic stop and arrested him for being in possession of a controlled substance. The man was later released with a citation from the Police Department.

Warrant Arrest – 6699 Fairmount Avenue:
At 0435 hours, an officer contacted a 34-year-old transient man and arrested him on an El Cerrito PD warrant. The man was then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

September 10th

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave at Eastshore Blvd.
At approximately 0911 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 49-year-old male from Los Angeles, for a warrant out of Los Angeles. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Shoplifting – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 1634 hours, an officer arrested a 33-year-old San Francisco man after he was positively identified as the person who had stolen property from the store.

Theft – 11565 San Pablo Ave.
A CSO reports that between 1600 – 1625 hours, an unknown suspect stole the rear license plate to the victim’s Toyota.

Drunk in Public – San Pablo Ave / Potrero Avenue
At 0036 hours, an officer located a 53-year-old Richmond man who was heavily intoxicated and unable to care for his welfare. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
