Detectives Update:

During September members from the patrol division noticed an uptick in graffiti along the Ohlone Greenway. One night officers observed a 37-year-old Richmond man spray painting a wall near the Greenway and Manila Avenue. The subject was identified and released at the scene pending further investigation. Within days of being caught, the suspect vandalized nearly every BART pylon along the north end of the Greenway. On the 20th, detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence and arrested him for causing over fifteen thousand dollars worth of damage from his graffiti. Officers also found artwork inside of the suspect’s residence which linked him to numerous other pieces of graffiti located throughout the city. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
