Bomb Threat-Mill Valley Middle School

On Tuesday, 11/27/2018, at approximately 0905 hours, the Mill Valley Police Department responded to the Mill Valley Middle School on a report of a suspicious voicemail. The voicemail indicated that a bomb had been placed on school grounds.

School Officials and the Mill Valley Police Department made the decision to lock down the school and perform an orderly evacuation of all students and staff to the Mill Valley Community Center. Parents of students were advised by Mill Valley Middle School administration of the evacuations and notifications were sent by the City of Mill Valley and the Mill Valley Police Department through a variety of means.
Officers, Deputies and K9 units (who are trained in explosive detection) did a thorough search of the school. No device was located and the “all clear” was announced at 1255 hours.

The source of the call is still under investigation.

Allied agencies, including the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Sausalito Police Department, Tiburon Police Department, Central Marin Police Authority, California Highway Patrol and San Francisco Police Department, all responded to assist in checking and securing the Mill Valley Middle School.
